2025 AKPLAS / A spring team building event by the Taihu Lake
Taihu Lake in March is an overturned palette. Willows write poems in the sparkling water, early cherry blossoms weave pink mist in the warm wind, and deep in the reed marsh, a group of egrets fly over the water, drawing our attention to the glass building on the skyline - "Sunset Utopia". At the spring equinox in 2025, we started a team-building journey here that interweaves work and poetry.
At sunset, a long outdoor table was set up for a grand meeting. The white-boiled silver fish was served in a celadon lotus leaf cup, and the crab paste tofu steamed with the spring of the south of the Yangtze River. The crisp clash of the toast startled the wind chimes under the eaves. I don’t know who started humming "The Beauty of Taihu Lake" first, and the song spread over the pier, awakening the first new lotus in the water lily pond.
At night, the glass dome lit up with star-like light strings. There was jubilant cheers from the billiard room, and a lore shot that cleared the table was broadcast live to the work group; the guitar strings moved by the campfire, and the usually silent programmer sang "Ten Miles of Spring Breeze" with a smoky voice, making the reeds sway and respond.
At this moment, the Milky Way fell over Taihu Lake, and the river lanterns carried the same wishes and drifted away. We know that when the morning mist dissipates tomorrow, these spring days spent together, the sparks that collided during collaboration, and the other side of each other that we accidentally discovered will all condense into amber memories. Just like the eternal stars above our heads and the new spring grass beneath our feet, in the gentle arms of Taihu Lake, we are both migratory birds heading for our destination and islands where each other lives.
